Update – Winter 2017: The Lake Region Teacher Center (LRTC) is proud to support teachers wishing to observe colleagues in the classroom. The LRTC Teacher Visitation Grant funds are used to reimburse schools for substitute teachers and travel expenses (in-state) so that an instructor can leave his/her classroom to observe a master teacher. There has been extensive interest in the LRTC Teacher Visitation Grant by member educators this school year, and 2016-17 funds have now been depleted. The LRTC supported 16 member teachers this year from the Lakota Elementary, Maddock, Minnie H, and Sweetwater Schools. If you would like to take part in an observation and wish to seek monetary support, please consider applying early in the fall of 2017 for the 2017-18 school year.
The Lake Region Teacher Center has a grant available for teachers to observe other colleagues in the classroom. This funding is intended to pay for a substitute teacher in order for an instructor to leave his or her classroom for the day, or part of the day, to observe a master teacher in the classroom. This funding can be used to fulfill part of your professional learning plan as you observe master teachers.
